Pixel Art #72-74: Adventures in the Magic Kingdom

Adventures in the Magic Kingdom was a 1990 Nintendo Entertainment System game from Capcom set in the aforementioned theme park, tasking the player with finding a series of keys so our favorite trio of Disney characters can unlock the gates to Cinderella Castle.

To obtain the keys, the player has to tackle a series of attractions including Space Mountain, the Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, and more.

The game itself is lackluster, short in length, with levels that are riddled with control issues and random difficulty spikes. Yet, I remember it as a relatively charming experience – exploring the theme park via an overworld that invoked town exploration in Dragon Warrior or StarTropics.

So, my most recent art was dedicated to the opening sequence which set up the game’s story – featuring Donald Duck, Goofy, and Mickey Mouse!

    1. I’ll admit, I did these awhile ago and art has been a hiatus as of late. But I still like to share, and like you mentioned, it’s a good change of pace from my other kinds of content!

Thanks for taking time to visit!

    1. Thank you!! It’s kind of a nostalgic game, and the graphics are just so vivid that they can bring back some deep memories. I’m pretty sure this was one that my cousin would bring over when she babysat us.

Time can vary for each project depending on the complexity. This one probably took between 30-50 minutes – the hardest part being the background and making sure it lines up exactly with the original template. And, of course, trying to be very precise about making the squares straight!
